How to use the Knowledge Hub

The BE-CLME+ Knowledge Hub brings the region's research, policy documents, videos and events on Caribbean fisheries, aquaculture and the Blue Economy into one place. This page shows you how to find your way around it. The full user manual is available to download in English and Spanish.

Start here

You do not need an account to read, search or download anything in the Knowledge Hub. Three steps cover most of what visitors come here to do.

1. Open the Knowledge Hub

Click Knowledge Hub in the main navigation bar. You land on the overview page, which has its own navigation bar: Home, Overview, Thematic Areas, Documents, Videos, News and Events.

2. Choose a thematic area or go straight to the documents

If you know the subject but not the source, start with Thematic Areas. If you are looking for a specific report, fact sheet or policy brief, go to Documents and use the search bar or open a folder.

3. Read, download or ask

Documents can be opened in the browser or downloaded. If you cannot find what you need, ask the BE-CLME assistant or send the team a request from the Help & Requests button.

The Hub is available in English and Spanish. Use the EN / ES switch at the top right of any page to change the display language.

What each tab does

Every tab in the Knowledge Hub navigation bar holds a different kind of content. Use this as a quick map before you go looking.

Overview

The front door of the Hub. Highlighted links, the latest news and a summary of what the platform holds.

Thematic Areas

Subject pages such as Blue Justice and Equitable Access, Climate Resilience, Food Security, Marine Spatial Planning, Fisheries Value Chain, Innovation and Livelihood, and Knowledge Exchange and Capacity Building.

Documents

Reports, fact sheets, policy briefs and experience notes, organised into folders and searchable by title.

Videos

Recorded sessions, interviews and short features on Caribbean fisheries, aquaculture and the Blue Economy. Filter by media name or language.

News

Articles and updates from CRFM and partners across the region. Click a headline or "read more" to open the full story.

Events

Upcoming and archived events, plus a calendar view of what is coming up in the region.

Uploading documents is reserved for CRFM administrators. Public visitors can browse, search and download, but will not see an upload option.

Download the user manual

The full user manual walks through every page of the site with screenshots, from the home page to the Help & Requests form. It is the reference to keep on hand when you are training colleagues or setting up the Hub for a new team.

Getting help

There are two ways to get an answer: ask the assistant for something quick, or send a request when a person needs to look into it.

Ask BE-CLME

The green Ask BE-CLME button sits in the bottom right corner of every Knowledge Hub page. Click it, type your question in the field at the bottom of the chat window, then press Enter or click Send.

Best for: finding a topic, checking what the Hub covers, and general questions about marine and climate content.

Help & Requests

The button sits at the far right of the Knowledge Hub navigation bar. To submit a request:

  • Enter a short Subject
  • Describe the issue in Description/Details
  • Choose a Category: IT Help, Access to Document, Content Issue or Other
  • Attach files if they help (500 MB limit, multiple files allowed)
  • Set a Priority of Low, Normal or High
  • Click Submit

Best for: broken links, missing or restricted documents, and anything the CRFM team needs to fix.

Common questions

Do I need an account to use the Knowledge Hub?

No. Browsing, searching, reading and downloading published content is open to everyone. Logging in is for CRFM staff and contributors who manage content on the platform.

How do I search for a document?

Open the Documents tab and type into the search bar, or open a folder such as Fact Sheets or Policy Briefs and browse the list. Results show the file name and the date it was last updated.

Can I read the site in Spanish?

Yes. Use the EN / ES switch at the top right of the Knowledge Hub, or the language dropdown in the footer on the main site. The Spanish user manual is available above.

A document I need is not on the site. What do I do?

Send a request through Help & Requests and choose the Access to Document category. Include the title or a description of what you are looking for so the team can track it down.

Something on a page looks wrong. Who do I tell?

Use Help & Requests with the Content Issue category. A screenshot attached to the request makes it much faster to fix.
